Grow Your Own Vegtables!

Have you ever thought about having a garden? or do you have one? Why not grow your own vegetables? It beats the jacked up prices at the grocery store and you can be guaranteed to know what you are eating.  There would be no more need to worry about what chemicals or pesticides you are ingesting and feeding your kids.  You also don't have to wonder if what you are eating was created in a science lab.  Today more and more of the produce we eat is being created in labs, being genetically altered and mutated to create new and improved foods, the only problem is there is relatively no testing done on these altered foods, no one has any idea of long term affects to those who eat them and there is no law requiring the manufactures to label a food as genetically altered.  Makes you wonder about that tomato you just bought huh?
 The best way to buy produce is from a local farmers market, unless you grow it yourself! I came across this article this morning about growing your own vegetables.
According to the article the easiest things to grow in your home garden are:
* Tomatoes
* Cucumbers
* Peppers
* Lettuce
* Basil
* Sage
* Thyme
Check out the article HERE
I live in an apartment so I don't have a yard where I can grow a garden, I have grown my own herbs though.  I can't wait till I have the ability to start my own garden. Do you grow anything yourself? Would you start?

  1. Thanks for being a new follower on my blog! If you want to grow your own veggies, and you have a patio or even just a 3 foot span next to your front door, then check out gardeners.com. They have all kinds of solutions for gardening in a confined space! Try keying in "revolution planter," "standing garden," or "grow bag." So many options for tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, salad greens, herbs, and probaly cucumbers and eggplant! There's nothing better than answering the "What's for dinner" question by picking things right out of your own garden! Hope you find something that works for you!
