This weeks this for that is a quick and easy change you can make to your meals. Instead of eating regular pasta made from white flour opt instead for whole wheat or even multi grain options. Now a days it is easy to find whole wheat options in all types of shapes and sizes from angle hair to rigatoni.
I made the switch to whole wheat pasta a while ago and I love it. I was worried at first about how it would taste but I actually like it better now. It has a slightly softer texture but is almost unnoticeable. I have made it many times for my boyfriend and he had no idea once it was covered in sauce. He would never choose to eat it if he knew it was whole wheat!
I encourage you to buy a box and try it. It's much healthier and I don't feel guilty about indulging in pasta when I make whole wheat pasta.
Do you eat whole wheat pasta? Will you try it?
Looks good, but as I am trying to avoid carbs... will give it a miss!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I love whole wheat pasta! I was amazed at how good it is! Recently we tried multi grain, and we are absolutely head over heals! We definitely like it more then whole wheat, but they're both delicious!
ReplyDeleteI will absolutely try this! The family loves pasta dishes, and every little bit helps! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOkay.... I'll give it another try. I seem to remember that the ww pasta was a bit globby (don't know if that's a word, but it might be that I cooked it too long). I'll try again...
ReplyDeleteI also love it cause on Weight Waters 1c Whole Wheat pasta is only 3 points!!
ReplyDeleteWe switched to ww pasta about 4 years ago and haven't looked back! We actually like it a lot better since it doesn't disintegrate when you defrost it after freezing. I love that you can finally start to get it in bulk packaging too! At least here in Ontario, it's a recent development!
ReplyDeleteHere from friday follow, have a super weekend!
Came over from Friday Follow! Have a great day!!!!

I tried whole wheat pasta once, and I wasn't a fan. but I bet if I ate it for a while, I would start to love it, and like it even better than the normal kind. That's how this stuff usually works, right?
ReplyDeleteI love whole wheat pasta! It's practically the only pasta I give my family. Thanks!!
ReplyDeletei have tried this in the past, and i think it's a great way to enjoy healthier eating habits. i just bought brown minute rice instead of white minute rice, but i have yet to try it out. same thing with my boyfriend, lol.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for stopping by the cape on the corner, and for becoming a follower! i truly appreciate it. i'm off to poke around some more and see what great tips you've got!
I really wish I could do this. I know wheat is healthier, but for me, it makes me sick. I can't have wheat anymore. Boo.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good idea for me. I LOVE starches, especially pasta and bread. This will likely help my weight loss further since I can't seem to say no to the pasta. lol Thank you so much for linking up to my Friday party! If you would like, I host a Monday meme about Motivation. All the women linking up right now are doing it for weight loss, but it can be about anything you want motivation for. I'd love if you join us.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I can tell I'm going to like your blog for the sheer fact that it will help me be healthier! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I came over to follow you back and say hi! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think part of the dislike is knowing it's whole wheat but there is a taste difference that takes getting used to. I make one serving because I'll eat 3 servings before I know it.
ReplyDeleteIt was kinda strange to make one serving but it helped me stick to my game plan
Gonna give it a shot! Thanks for stopping by! Following you from http://homemadehodgepodge.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteMy family loves it! I'm visiting from Admirer Monday. I already follow you.
